This song is raising funds for the NZ Red Cross earthquake appeal.
It was specially written for fundraisers for the Kaikoura earthquake. On 14 November 2016, just after midnight, a huge (7.8MM) quake struck South Island in NZ. Much damage, services disrupted, communities cut off and livelihoods ruined.
You can support by buying the track here. Minimum $1 but please give as much as you can - thanks :-)
For every song purchased, I'll email you the link to download the music video too.
This song shows the power of folk music - to tell a really big story by telling a really little one.
Has anyone seen our Timmy?
Anyone seen our Tim?
We haven’t set eyes on him since last night
When the world took to shaking, I hope he’s alright.
It seemed just normal Sunday
Out playing in the sun
Getting quite late when we put him to bed
His eyes looked so tired when I kissed his wee head
Then I awoke to a terrible sound
The whole house was rocking, we rolled to the ground
Dad said it was a real big earthquake ’n’
I don’t understand, but we’re all really shaken
When we looked, Tim couldn’t be found
Has anyone seen our wee Tim?
We’re all so missing him
Our family grew bigger just three years ago,
Now he’s me best pal, and I know where he’d go
We had a den under the kitchen
Where we’d hide and play all day
But it crumbled to pieces with the first aftershock
Now the men in their uniforms won’t let me look
Since I awoke……
Then a cry and we heard him coming
His little feet pounding the ground
His tail was so waggish, like it would detach
He may still be shaking, but there isn’t a scratch
Hey everyone, here’s our Timmy
We thought we lost him for good
Mum said I should take him for a walk ’n’
I’m just so excited I cannot stop talking
Has everyone seen our Timmy !!
